Towns and Settlements

Anvilmar

Kharanos

Kharanos is a really just two buildings. The Thunderbrew inn is a place where characters can rest, and it also has several class trainers and a first aid trainer.

There is a Warlock trainer and a pet trainer outside, to the south of the front door.

The building across the road has several vendors and repair merchants.

Steelgrill's Depot

Steelgrill's Depot is only a few hundred yards northeast of Kharanos. Here you'll find a vendor that sells mechostriders, but you can't buy them until level 40. For low level characters, there are several questgivers here.

Dwarven Airport

The Dwarven Airport, sometimes referred to as "the top of Ironforge," is an area that can be seen when flying by gryphon between Ironforge and the Wetlands. Players flying over can see a runway, some parked dwarven aircraft, several buildings, Dwarfs fighting troggs on a frozen lake, and what appears to be a gryphon master. There are also several farms on the northern slope of the mountain.

It's unknown if the area was put in the game simply as scenery for the gryphon flight, or if it was intended as a playable area but was closed off because it was never finished.

There is a secret path that starts in the North Gate Pass section of Loch Modan that leads to the airport. Exploration reveals that the buildings are closed (they have doors which do not open) and the flightmaster is not a functioning flight point. The farms are also accessible, but only to characters that have access to a slow fall or similar spell.

There are two tunnels, one of which ends with an invisible wall, the other opens to a void of nothingness. Jumping into the void results in a fall and eventual death, but without hitting any sort of ground.

Stonesplinter Valley

Stonesplinter Valley is filled with Troggs. Stonsplinter Troggs and Scouts (levels 11 to 12) inhabit the lower part of the valley. The upper part of the valley is filled with Skullthumpers and Seers (levels 13 to 14). There are two Trogg filled caves at the top of the valley. It's a good place to do the first two "In the Defense of the King's Lands" quests.

Valley of the Kings

There are several quest givers in the Dwarven bunker here. The tunnel to the west goes to Dun Morogh. The tunnel to the south goes to the Searing Gorge, but requires a key.
