Of saris and jewellery from across the country on September 1 and 2

BEAUTY, YARD BY YARD A sari on display at the CCI exhibition
It's time once again for the annual exhibition of textiles and jewellery organised by the Crafts Council of India. The exhibition to be held on September 1 and 2 will bring together artisans and designers from across the country.
The highlights this year will be Kimbhab Benarasi saris embellished with the revived motifs of bel and flowers, crafted by Chandra Jain, and Vidhi Singhania's kota, chiffon, georgette and silk saris with kadi and block prints.
One can also pick up printed silk, crepe, Maheswari and tussar saris from Ojjas, Girija Prasad's Just Benares collection, Ghanshyam Sarode's ikkats and uppadas in silk and cotton, vegetable dyed fabrics and saris from Weaver's Studio and Kashmiri embroidered saris and shawls from Elysian Arts Emporium.
Then there will be phulkari saris and salwar sets from Guru Nanak Phulkari House, embroidered kurtis from Puja Singhal, and chiffon, georgette and linen fabrics from Mukesh Khanna.
Purvi Patel's embroidered cholis will be another attraction.
Also available will be accessories such as handbags embellished with pearls and crystals and kundan, minakari, Victorian and bead jewellery. There will be an exclusive stall displaying Thai jewellery.
The CCI mela will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Hotel Chola Sheraton, Cathedral Road.
