INFORMATION OFFICE

The State of Kuwait began its diplomatic relations with the Republic of India in 1961 and a Consulate in Mumbai was subsequently established. Full diplomatic relations with the Republic of India were initiated in 1964 when an Embassy in the capital city of New Delhi was established.

The Embassy was shifted to its current premises in New Delhi on February 25, 1979.

Organisation

Kuwait Information Office (KIO) in New Delhi was established in 1992 with the purpose of catering to the needs of the people who want to know more about Kuwait. It is one of the full-fledged information offices of the State of Kuwait.

The KIO, New Delhi, publishes two monthly newsletters: Kuwait News in English since June 1993, and Kuwait Samachar in Hindi since June 1994, respectively.

The KIO has organised many seminars towards developing Indo-Kuwait relations.

The KIO has a library to help students or researchers who are doing research about Kuwait and other related topics.
