Even if God of War has a Pandora's box worth of small glitches, at it’s core it’s a supremely smoothly rolling action game. Certain hardcore gamers may look down on God of War: it's short, it's linear, it's showy and it's accessible. But it's also a towering achievement of game design and attention to detail that even manages to make recent hits like Devil May Cry 3 look rusty in places. [PSW]

Adam W. gave it a9:
A very fun game if you like fighting (somewhat button-mashing), (poorly animated) breasts, and massive amounts of gore. There's very little replay value except to unlock some of the amusing extras and secrets. The music is alright but I've heard better. The storyline and plot was kind of generic but was acceptable. You should rent this game.

Jessica C. gave it a10:
God of War for Play station two is such an awesome game! Before I played God of War I played Prince of Persia and thought it was the best game ever until I heard of God of War! I love the mythology in it and the awesome action! I love how you get the option to out it on Legendary. Super hard.

FFIX love gave it a9:
An awesome game with amazing combat mechanics. The plot is good, although could have been better developed. But the game is too short. Still an amazing experience with puzzles fitted in to make the experience more varied. The main music theme is very good, but lacks variety. Lots of blood and gore, so if you actively dislike that sort of thing dont get it. Otherwise, go buy it.

Mike F. gave it a10:
Entertaining for hours. Very fun. I'm sad that I didn't learn about this game until recently, played it on my PS3 - with upscaling looked GREAT on 420p :)

Jesus C. gave it a0:
Vapid, button-mashing mixed with mediocre music? No thanks. I'll take Halo 3 over this ANYDAY!

Josh H. gave it a7:
A little redundant and lacking in variety. Decent play though. Halo is better.

Nelson D. gave it a7:
Its entertaining but Rygar: The Legendary Adventure is WAY better, IMO. I think its because of the better atmosphere/enviroment and music. God of War's levels are too bleak and bland for me (though im sure this is might be the intended effect).
