Between the worlds of light and dark lies the world of dreams. A world where the rule of reason loosens its grip. A place where an insidious evil is stealing minds and blackening the hearts of those from the world of light. Grab a weapon and become the dreamwalker Alundra as he struggles to purge the evil Id of an ancient world before it falls to ash. Explore dungeons, find weapons, solve challenging puzzles, and kick some serious monster butt as you weave between tense reality and nightmarish dreams to save the hapless masses. With a wide cast of characters and scores of challenging puzzles created by the people responsible for Landstalker on the Genesis, Alundra will rob you of precious sleep until you finish! Alundra's off-the-hook action and challenging gameplay elevate it to must-have RPG status. Wake up and buy the game... missing out may cause you to have nightmares.[Feb 1998]

Alundra has a sweeping, epic story that contains its share of mysteries, plot twists and moments of high drama. [Jan 1998]

It's an addictive, well-rounded game that is balanced, challenging, and, most of all, fun to play. If you're speedy, on the quick end it'll take around 40 or so hours to complete.

It's the puzzles that make the game so rewarding. They're tough, sure, and many are downright brilliant in design. Working Designs, as always, did an excellent job translating the dialogue and story, although, their trademark humor is toned down a bit. [Feb 1998]

Besides my gaming integrity being slightly scarred by near impossible obstacles, and I use the word "near" really loosely, I do have to admit that this game is awesome.

Alundra's strength lies in its incomparable gameplay and challenge, which stands as a true testament to the game's real appeal. Providing a truly refreshing change of pace to the one-button control of other standard RPGs, Alundra is a solid title that demands as much skill and time as involvement. [Feb 1998]

Absolute Playstation
A rather uninspired, but enjoyable enough experience. You will probably walk away feeling a real sense of accomplishment for solving the all of the puzzles, but the game itself will in all likelihood, not leave much of a lasting impression.

The graphics are gorgeous, with a loving amount of detail, but the perspective and colouring may give them a dated, 16-bit feel.

Mickey L. gave it a10:
Alundra is a trully inspiring game even after so long from release date. It has often been refered to by other big game enterprises and in doing so, gives it an enormous recomendation! The graphics themselvezs are good for a game of its age, but the colour technique used really shows its age well. For overall preformance, it is a fantastic RPG that every RPG fanatic should have played before giving themselves such a title!

Tcho gave it a6:
I recommend this only to those who love solving puzzles. Iffy storyline leaves you not caring when characters die or progressions in the plot and the gameplay can really annoy you at times. A zelda clone but with more puzzles, it's enjoyable enough if you're after a rpg fix but there's better rpgs out there.

Johnny B. gave it a10:
This game is absolutely outstanding! If you ask me, the game was really creepy at times, creating an atmosphere that really captures you, while at the same time not resolving to shock, gore or blood. It actually was the first time back in the last 10 years of RPGs that the death of one of the characters around your hero felt like a loss. Of course, the great storyline greatly supports this.

Manos gave it a9:
It's hard but it's one of my favourite games ever! It rocks!
