Entertainment Weekly Ari Karpel
The show immediately bursts at the seems with personality. [16 Nov 2007, p.68]

TV Guide Matt Roush
Finally, cable's hit design show is back, still the best and most flamboyantly entertaining of TV's skill-based competitions.

Whichever the case, or whatever combination of the two, watching these 15 aspiring fashion designers compete for their big break is more fun than a new Victoria's Secret catalogue.

Project Runway appears to have saved itself (and its audience from boredom) by showcasing a crop of designers that is--as Gunn has not unjustly declared--"the strongest group ever."

Philadelphia Daily News Ellen Gray
In a sign that Runway's producers now know where the show's strength lies, the designers' first-episode challenge doesn't, for once, center on materials scooped up at the supermarket or home center but on actual fabric.

If you’re wondering if the Bravo reality linchpin is any good in its fourth season, well, of course it is.

The premiere showed a few early signs of greatness from a handful of the designers; you'll have to watch to find out to whom I'm referring.

Hosts Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn are back. And once again, there's more meat to the competition than there is on the bones of the models.

Project Runway is a lot like "The Flintstones"--with both shows, you're guaranteed a gay old time.

Project Runway is entertaining and likable on so many levels that it's hard to resist.

From an advance look at the season opener, this season's cast is a particularly lively mix with a multimedia artist, a "Beach Blanket Babylon" costume designer, a model-turned-designer and an ex-biker among those competing.

The results in the season opener aren’t surprising, but they unfold in a satisfying way.

With so many characters to introduce in a one-hour show, at least a few broad strokes are unavoidable.

All I see is a bunch of reasonable, ambitious types and one kooky hippie. Do you honestly think we're going to hang around just to hear Tim Gunn say "Make it work!" for the fifty-millionth time in a row?

Jane K. gave it an8:
Probably one of the best reality shows on television. Passionate, creative, and interesting fashion designers, great competitions, and of course Tim Gunn. Though I am becoming increasingly annoyed at the lack of time given to these talented contestants... there are less finished pieces this season, and though a tight squeeze for time is part of the contest, sometimes it feels like the audience is being just as robbed as the designers. The end results are what the show is all about.

Kenny M. gave it a10:
Are there TWO straight guys this season!?!?!?! Project Runway is like an infectious disease and I've caught it.

James K. gave it a4:
I used to like this show.... but this year the contestants are so ridiculously annoying I can only stomach 10 minutes before I start to get the heaves.

Deborah L gave it a7:
looking good but I predicted the winner and that's never a good sign. They need guest judges with more "pop!"
