In the latest game from Nintendo's master game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, players control a Spaceman who has crash-landed on a strange world inhabited by Pikmin -- plant-like creatures who selflessly follow the spaceman's orders. Controlling these Pikmin, it's up to you to help the Spaceman defeat the Pikmin-munching predators, solve puzzles and ultimately find a way to escape the planet. [Nintendo]

Brilliant...Indeed, it's the kind of game that you find yourself playing in your head as you fall asleep at night, counting Pikmin, as it were. [Feb 2002, p.56]

One of the most refreshing games to come out of Nintendo in a while...It's a great adventure indeed, but when the 30 days are over and the last level is complete you find yourself feeling somewhat slighted.

The only real complaint to be found is the game’s length, as it must be completed in a specified period of time, thirty of Olimar’s days.

The only other problem I found with the game was the challenge that the in-game camera presents. Often, you will find yourself using the camera buttons a lot to move the camera so you can see everything in the environment.

It has the obsessive quality. This one goes beyond simple addiction. If you get into it, you will probably REALLY get into it, and want to want to redo the game until you’ve completely dominated it.

I was pleased to find that my six-year-old daughter had as much fun as I did playing the game. Although she became a bit frustrated at points (as I did) she still was able to manage to manipulate the pikmin the way she intended.

The only real problem I had with the game is one you have to push "A" 71 consecutive times to pull that many Pikmin out of the ground, and with only 30 days this gets time consuming.

This is the best game I have ever played, other than pikmin 2. And heads up because pikmin 3 is coming out for the nintendo wii.

Micro Fork gave it a9:
Great game, might take a while to learn how to play, but just incredibly fun. Graphics are nothing special but they fit the game, and sound is pretty nice.

Daniel B. gave it a9:
The first time i played this game i was hooked, the graphics and the details in the worlds, along with the addictive gameplay kept me coming back for more. Pikmin RULE

George B. gave it a 9:
I think this game is extremly good, everywere you go you fell like you'r exporing something new and what you can do is endless.

Daniel M. gave it a 9:
Not the easiest game to get into, but rewarding none the less.

Booger Snot gave it a 9:
The cons of this was the extremely short days and the allowance of days to finish your mission. The other con is that the pikmin get eatan too qickly. Then it takes too long to knock down walls and blow up things. Now the pros are this was a good origional story. The pikmin creatures are absolutly cute. The graphics flow smoothly and has very unique game play.

Dave B. gave it a 10:
This game rocks, and it's only for NGC so it's a must-own/play title! I can't wait for the sequel, it look awesome!
