Eurovision Song Contest 1983

With Italy, France and Greece back in competition and Ireland stepping out for one year there were 20 countries again. It was not a spectacular show this time, there were no postcard movies and the stage was rather dull. Host Marlene Charell tried to announce each song in English, French and German, which was pretty hard for her, and so she made a lot of mistakes. During the voting she made thirteen further mistakes. Eventually it was Luxembourg to win the 28th Eurovision Song Contest, the 5th victory for the small country.
