Lifeguards Wanted Lifeguards Wanted
Being a lifeguard is one of the best jobs in New York City and a guaranteed way to be in top physical condition while helping to keep millions of New Yorkers safe. The City's beaches are open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and the pools are open from late June through Labor Day. Lifeguards work 48 hours each week and first-year lifeguards will earn a minimum of $12.55 an hour. As one of just 1,200 New York City Lifeguards, you will be part of an elite group that is committed to serving the public.

Prevent Child Abuse
Reports of child abuse and neglect can be made 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling the New York State Central Register (SCR) Child Abuse and Maltreatment Hotline. All calls are confidential. The SCR relays calls to the Administration for Children's Services to begin an investigation when appropriate.
