About ERS

Information Quality Guidelines

The Economic Research Service (ERS) provides guidelines to ensure the quality, objectivity, utility, and integrity of the information disseminated by the agency. ERS also has established administrative mechanisms to allow the public to seek and obtain correction of information maintained and disseminated by the agency that does not comply with the Information Quality Guidelines. Peer Review

The agency's Peer Review process ensures influential scientific information and highly influential scientific assessments are reviewed by qualified specialists before being disseminated by the Federal Government. See the ERS Peer Review Agenda and Peer Review Plans of influential scientific information and highly influential scientific assessments, as required by OMB's Final Information Quality Bulletin for Peer Review .

ERS reports annually to OMB the number and nature of complaints received by the agency regarding agency compliance with OMB and agency guidelines and how such complaints were resolved.
