Recent themes

The Constitution of 1988 opened the door for various different types of debates in the field of indigenous rights. They are recent and complex themes that presume an understanding of prevailing laws and laws being prepared, as well as de facto situations in Brazil and in other countries. We contacted some specialists who comment on the following topics. They are full articles whose topics will be hard to be understood without having read prior articles, and for this reason we indicate to the reader the texts to which they are related on other pages on this site.

:: Traditional knowledge and biodiversity
:: Genetic heritage or patrimony of whom? for whom?
:: Copyrights and image copyrights
:: Economic activities on indigenous lands
:: Forestry management on indigenous lands
:: Mining on indigenous community lands
:: Definition of crimes against the indigenous communities
