Mitchell Report

Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Miguel Tejada and Eric Gagne were named in the highly anticipated Mitchell Report, which contained the results of a 20-month investigation into the use of performance-enhancing drugs in Major League Baseball.

Called to the Hall

Rich Gossage's long wait is over. Gossage, who helped pioneer the role of the modern closer in the 1970s, was elected to baseball's Hall of Fame. Gossage received nearly 86 percent of the vote from the Baseball Writers' Association - easily surpassing the needed 75 percent for enshrinement - in his ninth year on the ballot.
