Posted January 12, 2008 13:00:00

A Darwin police officer allegedly got drunk and crashed an unmarked police car into a power pole last night.

Police say the officer was unhurt but the car was "stuffed".

The 36-year-old allegedly recorded a blood alcohol level more than double the legal limit.

He has been given bail and is due to face court at the end of the month, charged with drink driving and driving without due care.
