Hair sues cricket boards for 'racial discrimination'

Australian umpire Darrell Hair is suing international and Pakistani cricket authorities for what he says is racial discrimination.

Hair says he has been treated unfairly since he accused Pakistan's captain Inzamam ul-Haq of ball-tampering in last year's test series with England.

He was later banned from officiating in international matches.

The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Dr Naseem Ashraf, says discrimination had nothing to do with it.

"Mr Hair was removed from the ICC panel of umpires because of his bad umpiring and his poor judgement," he said.
