About Catholic Exchange

Catholic Exchange is a non-profit media organization that seeks to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ as proclaimed by the Catholic Church to the world through the modern tools of mass communication. Inspired by Pope John Paul II's call for a "Springtime of a New Evangelization," and in faithfulness to Pope Benedict XVI, we strive to "put out into the deep" a relevant response to the need for greater catechesis and revival of the lay faithful. Since our founding in 2001 by an independent group of laypeople, Catholic Exchange has been able to provide an ever-increasing menu of programs and services, which help our viewers to stay "plugged-in" to the information and issues that affect their daily lives. Catholic Exchange has become a virtual and physical portal to the important developments occurring in the world, to the beautiful truths of the Christian faith revealed to us through the Catholic Church, and to the opportunities available to faithful people searching and striving to make a difference with their lives.

Our Goals

  • To provide inspiring, high-quality, faith-based content that delivers timely, relevant and practical tools to help Catholics understand and more fully and effectively practice their faith in their daily lives.
  • To reach people who may be influenced by the powerful forces of the secular culture yet who inwardly desire a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith and a more authentic relationship with Christ.
  • To provide faithful Catholic commentary on the passing cultural scene that educates and inspires the public.

Our Work

CatholicExchange.com: Launched in July 2001, the Catholic Exchange website has distinguished itself as the premier Catholic portal on the Internet. Risen from the ashes of our for-profit predecessor, e3mil.com, Catholic Exchange has become the "go to" full-service website for Catholics worldwide. Each and every day, CE publishes what the Arlington Catholic Herald has called "A Daily Sunday Paper for Catholics," and we make it available at no cost to anyone in the world with Internet access. We currently receive over a million visits each month.

Catholic Exchange Radio and Podcasts: Our first-ever podcast featuring NPR-like vignettes launched in the Fall of 2005, hosted by Mark Shea. It quickly rose in popularity on the podcast networks and is now one of the most downloaded Catholic programs available. Rock Solid with Mark Shea was quickly followed by the launch of our first full-fledged radio program, Catholic Exchange Today with John Morales, which is currently running on 31 radio stations nationwide and is set to launch on Sirius Satellite Radio's "The Catholic Channel." It is also available for streaming or download on CatholicExchange.com. Listeners love Catholic Exchange Today because it's fast-paced and engaging like secular radio, and packed with clearly communicated Catholic ideas and great regular guests like Patrick Madrid, Dr. Marcellino D'Ambrosio and Teresa Tomeo.

Catholic Exchange Publications: Working with our co-publishing partners Ascension Press and Catholic Outreach, CE has created and distributed some of the highest impact and lowest cost faith formation resources ever produced. We wrote our first book, A Guide to the Passion: 100 Questions About The Passion of The Christ, to reveal the rich Catholic meaning and truth within the scenes of the blockbuster film - and distributed over a million copies in the process. We followed up with two more publishing successes in the same cultural vein with A Guide to Narnia and The DaVinci Deception, which debunked the blasphemies and theological stupidities presented in The DaVinci Code.

Catholic Exchange Film & Video: "Champions of Faith" is a groundbreaking sports special that showcases the intersection of sports and faith in Major League Baseball by profiling many of the most accomplished and devout figures in the game both on and off the field. It features inspiring stories, thrilling game highlights and deeply personal interviews with baseball heroes from around the majors on how their careers have been strengthened and magnified by their faith in God. Shot in high-definition video with the cooperation and assistance of Major League Baseball, this inaugural production of Catholic Exchange's new film & video division provides some of the biggest names in our national pastime with a unique forum to discuss faith, family, teamwork, sacrifice, leadership, humility and the many virtues and spiritual lessons they have learned from the game.

What others are saying about Catholic Exchange

"Catholic Exchange's proven and effective solidly Catholic programs have already touched the lives of millions. Catholic Exchange has been personally helpful to me and my efforts to lead with faith and integrity, and I know they help many others. They need your prayers and your support to continue their work. Please help their work in any wayyou can ." - Senator Sam Brownback, (R-Kansas)

"I love Catholic Exchange! Not only does the [organization] present us with the full range of teachings of the Ancient Faith, but they are unabashedly pro-life and leaders in the counter-revolution of conscience. I look at CE every chance I get and am never disappointed." - Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer, President, Human Life International

"Catholic Exchange is just what the Church of the 21st Century needs. It's smart, relevant, accessible and blessedly above the political polarization that so defines most religious media. It isn't just a tool of the New Evangelization called for by John Paul II; it IS the New Evangelization."- Barbara R. Nicolosi, founder, Act One.

"Catholic Exchange is a gift to Catholics everywhere. A voice at last can be heard in modern media that speaks eloquently on behalf of committed Catholics who love the Church." - Dr. Matthew Bunson, General Editor, The Catholic Almanac
