Because we've had just about enough of the Nintendo ones. There are other 8-bit heroes that need pumpkin representation. Jonathan writes:
It's not a masterpiece by any means, but I think it turned out pretty well... and I hadn't seen other megaman pumpkins yet. My friend was going to do a quickman pumpkin so he'd have someone to fight against, but that didn't work out :-) Anyway, I hope you like it!
We do! Our condolences over Quickman, though. His passing will leave a gaping chasm in the vegetable-themed Megaman universe.

Cute Virtual Idol Sings Game Tunes

What's all the rage in nerdland? This. That is a clip of "Cute Pop Idol" Miku Hatsune (ミク初音), who's name means "Future" (ミク=未来=Miku) "First Sound" (初=hatsu=first 音＝ne＝sound). She is a hugely popular character in Yamaha's singing synthesizer application Vocaloid2. Here's the interesting bit: The vocal software is tweaked especially for J-pop anime-type songs. The software is apparently way easier to learn than stuff pros use, so otaku are easily able to create things like the this melody from THE iDOLM@STER, Super Mario RPG, Megaman, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Haruhi and Lucky Star. A mindboggling numer of screens have come out for Capcom's upcoming Mega Man ZX Advent for Nintendo DS. To be released in October, the new series will feature two new main characters, Grey who is a 14 year-old failed experiment that has been awakened from a cryogenic sleep and Ashe, a 15 year-old who works for Legions, a government organization that oversees the world's affairs. On one hand, I deplore any form of humor which mostly involves someone swearing into their microphone for twenty minutes. Eviscerate Zombies As Megaman

There's not much better than ripping the black, liquified bowels out of a zombie in Dead Rising... unless you're ripping them out while dressed as a blue, 8-bit cyborg. Eye Hurting Aside, This MegaMan Case Mod Is Hardcore

Gamer XHunter and his brother (YHunter?) carved two MegaMan symbols into the sides of a computer case. The symbols (The MegaMan Zero logo and the Mettuar virus from Rockman EXE) were then given headache-inducing back lighting to make the designs glow like jack o' lanterns when the lights are out. These guys are so into MegaMan that they are not only willing to risk ruining their PC casing, but their vision as they type in darkness just so they can view their MegaMan handiwork.
