La Salle wide receiver Joe Migliarese (90) and quarterback John Harrison teamed up to help lead the Explorers to the Catholic League Red Division championship last year. Now, the two seniors are hoping for a repeat performance as they prepare to do battle in a stacked division and give La Salle its 10th league title overall.
Coming into the game against Cardinal O'Hara as losers of three straight, the Explorers found themselves struggling against a team they had beaten by 17 points earlier in the season.

Pennsbury quarterback Jack ?Westerg gets ready to hand off the ball while Archbishop Ryan defensive back Chris Calhoun gives chase. Westberg, in his first year starting, takes over a team that lost in quadrouple overtime in the state semifinals last year to Bethlehem-Liberty. A repeat peformance is unlikely, considering how many players the Falcons lost from last season, but they will still be competitive in the Suburban One League.
What Galen Snyder has gone through over the past year is kind of like the children's board game "Chutes and Ladders."

(From left to right) Council Rock North players like Jake Fields, a sophomore, and seniors Dennis Park and Ryan McNamee, return after a season where the Indians won the PIAA class AAA state title. Although they lost several key players from last year’s squad, the three hope to lead the Indians to a repeat performance.
When most people see that Council Rock North boys soccer was the 2006 state champions, they focus on the second part:

West Chester Henderson’s cross country program looks poised to make another state appearance led by senior captain and 2006 state medalist Chris Aldrich (front row, left). Aldrich, who finished in the top 20 in the state title race last year, must have a strong season if the Warriors want a shot at a state championship in 2007.

Sophomore Kelyn Freedman (center) is the top runner for a Radnor team that lost four seniors from last year’s state championship squad. This will probably be a rebuilding year for the Red Raiders, but they should still be fairly competitive in the Central League.
Kelyn Freedman took in the sights at the Parkview Cross Country Course in Hershey. Being in early November last year, it was kind of chilly, but not too cold. Perfect running weather.

(From left to right) Senior Katie Flowers, sophomore Jill Keeney, senior Brittany Bosenhofer and senior Allison Redding lead a talented Shipley field hockey squad looking to reach its third straight Friends League title game. Since the Gators joined the league two years ago, they have reached the championship twice and won it once.
The arrival of the fall season engenders thoughts of falling leaves, cooling temperatures and, for most scholastic sports fans, the eagerly awaited arrival of "traditional" football rivalry games.

Merion Mercy senior setter Helen Fitzpatrick lead a Golden Bears team that has cracked the national rankings for high school volleyball. The two lead a squad that should have no problems taking the Athletic Association of Catholic Academies title and should vie for the District 1 title as well. When it comes time for the state tournment, Merion will have to battle with the likes of Allentown Central Catholic, Bishop Shanahan, Freedom, Hempfield and Lancaster Mennonite for the right to be the best in Pennsylvania.
