Unlimited data packages are filled with much win. ;-)

Yeah, but if data transfer in opera mobile is high ,it'll not be fast.
;-):-)

Yeah, that is true. I'm on 3G here and can transfer 400k of data in about 6 seconds, so it's not that bad really. If a whole web page loaded in 6 seconds or under, I think that would be acceptable for a mobile phone.

To date, the only browser I've found that's better than Opera Mini is Opera for S60. Teashark looks promising, but has several annoying bugs and other limitations that prevent it from being very useful. UCweb is also very nice, but slower and has one major bug - it doesn't load stylesheets. This is a huge downside.

That is assuming when the flash plugin loads it doesn't bog your phone down and freeze up.
That is a flash problem though, not an IE problem.

Note that you can use the TCPMP YouTube Flash plug-in with IEM to correctly play back these videos - it's MUCH better than Macromedia (Adobe)'s Flash support. See my related articles.

opera mini is fastest .... probably because pages are compressed before being sent to phone.

Of course they are. Why do you think OM needs a bunch of transcoders?

and can you (pleease) stop bumping this thread?

i heard of minute browser. you have to pay for it but its not worthy of a dime. opera is still best so far. minute takes forever and takes phone memory.

I recently tried Teashark and if I consider that it's only an alpha version it looks very promising.

UCweb is not available in english for j2me phones so I can't use it. My phone won't even display the text it uses. (presumably chinese)

Operamini 3 is still my favourite as OM4 won't run correctly on my phone so I'll only use it where OM3 doesn't go.

tried tshark and ucweb all of which have some additional features that are not in OM3or4, maybe in OM5? ...but neither of those 2 other browsers have the reliable smooth function of OM which has undergone a quantum leap in speed since recent server enhancements. I have, at present, no reason to be looking further afield.

A lot of war is already there on this topic !!!! I think operamini 4 is the best bcoz :
1. It works very fast (compared to my phone browser)
2. It shows u the full website in seconds by using compression.
3. Its free of cost
4. I works gr8 even on my big screen old horse Nokia 7710.

Remember that this is a Chinese browser, with its servers behind the "Great Firewall of China". Security may be questionable, and censorship and control of which sites you can surf may be an issue!

I have tried this software, and experienced restrictions and slow operation. Suffice to say, I still use Opera Mini (3.1) as my window to the web.
