Becoming mostly dry and bright this morning in Connaught, Ulster and north Leinster with just well scattered showers, however staying cloudy further south with rain. Winds moderating through the morning. Rain returning northwards this afternoon and winds strengthen again later. Top afternoon temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

Tonight's Weather
Very wet and windy this evening and tonight but the rain will clear to showers in many areas by morning. Mild with lowest temperatures of 7 or 8 degrees in some northern areas early in the night but 10 or 11 degrees further south.

Rain will clear eastern areas early tomorrow morning with sunny spells and showers following. Some of the showers will be heavy or possibly prolonged in western areas especially. Windy and mild at first but turning colder later in the day.

3 Day Outlook
Friday night will be blustery with occasional heavy showers. Southwest winds will be fresh to strong and gusty. They'll decrease moderate to fresh west to northwest overnight and early on Saturday and the day will be quite cold with highest temperatures of about 7 to 9 degrees. There'll be further heavy showers for a time, but they'll gradually die out through the afternoon and evening and winds will ease. Patches of fog and a sharp frost will develop on Saturday night with icy stretches in many areas. Sunday will be cold, dry and bright with sunny spells and light winds. Rain and freshening southerly winds will develop in the west in the evening and spread to all areas overnight and early on Monday. The rain will clear slowly on Monday, but will linger in the east until Monday night.
