Alleged Mokbel associate refused bail

An alleged associate of convicted Melbourne drug trafficker Tony Mokbel has been refused bail.

David Tricarico, 23, from Doncaster East was one of eight people accused of being part of a drug manufacturing network known as "The Company".

His lawyer, Con Heliotis, argued his client should be released from custody because of his use, and the anticipated lengthy wait before his next court appearance.

But magistrate Paul Smith told the court those factors do not amount to exceptional circumstances and Tricarico will remain in custody.
