Fashionably late to the Wii launch, Bonk and Bomberman are now available for your retro gaming fix via the Wii's Virtual Console. For a mere 600 points (six bucks American) each, you can take lil' Bonk on a noggin smashin' adventure, or get your mulitplayer Bomberman fix, 1993 style.
As soon as I locate my own Wii, I'm going to work on my Bonk speed runs. If you're not buying these games, I'll be deeply offended. Go download now!
Thanks for the heads up, Douglas!

I first read the title as "TurboGrafx Games Now On Live" and was about to run home and get on the Marketplace....
ugh, I am longing for a Wii even more than before.
All I want to know is where the heck is Super Mario Bros? Seriously.
hehe :D cant wait for dec 8th!
Apparently you can also play 5 players on the Wii - 4 Wii controllers and one Gamecube controller. From here:
Looks like I'm out another 1200 Wii points tonight.
bonk (and starfox 64) might be my first vc-game once my european wii will have reached my flat - anyone else got that bonk remake for the gamecube released only in japan 3 years ago, btw?
I'm waiting for Super Star Soilder and Victory Run.
I also will wait for them to announce all the titles in this list.

Why are people cheering for VC games are are able to be bought on ebay for cheap and have no upgrades such as graphics or network code...
Yet everyone bitches when XBLA games are released that were only in arcades and those games are multiplayer or network ready with upgraded graphics.
Whats the deal?
ANyone else notice their Wii's being quite warm to the touch even after 14 hours in standby??.. I guess I had to get some sleep since the launch.
Now if only my Wii would connect to the Shopping Channel......
Come on, no Bomberman online play?
Whaddafuxs up with that?
What are you talking about Watership?
I would happily take PC-Engine titles on Virtual Console, Xbox Live, or Playstation Store.
Updates or not, I just want the games I like.
Not all games are on ebay either, and as my PC-Engine doesn't work these days it wouldn't do me any good to get the orriginal games anyway.
Not to mention games like Air Zonk, or $7 and above, more for me as I would have to import them to Japan.
Heres a video of the Shop Channel and they layout and the TurboGrafx games.
It's less then 2 minutes long.
[Straight capture.]
I only do this because alot of friends ask me and no "Kotatites" have yelled at me for it yet.

Needs more Nectaris.
Oops, I meant "Kotakians"
WHOOHOO!!! Bomberman! Yeah. Now I can officially ignore reality again. And I've got support for 3 players too! hehe.
great... now when are the news, forcast, and internet channels arriving?
Can I just say Nintendo has done the Virtual Console right...no remakes/tweaks. Donkey Kong rocks and is an exact port (as much as I can tell)
By contrast, the Contra that was released on the Xbox 360 was crap (couldn't even shoot at an angle).
Watership.......its called ON DEMAND gaming as i dont wanna wait 3 weeks shipping on cross planet delivery
Dungeon Explorer and SuperStar Soldier are on my list. Although, I have 2000 points burning a hold in my "virtual" pocket, I may get F-Zero and chill.
@ Watership
Because multiplay on XBLA can be laggy and there are games coming for VC that have yet to be announced for XBLA. So it's a safe bet that VC will get Castlevania 4 (one of the best in the series) Contra 3: The Alien Wars (better than Contra 1 and 2 in the arcade) etc etc before XBLA if XBLA gets them at all.
Besides, if Nintendo gives us Sin and Punishment, Secret of Mana, TMNT, Actraier just to name a few, VC will be well worth the price of admission.
Watership - it's because every single one of us hates those xbox-360 owning scum like yourselves who pollute these boards with their foul existence...
...either that or you have a persecution complex. Use your own judgement.
I will buy every single Turbo Grafx game they put up there, because at 6 bucks a pop they will all be cheaper then buying them online.
I just want an updated Goldeneye with Online play. Can i get that F-ck not tweaking it? I say tweak away and make some games a little better.
Man, it's hard to think back to the time when Bonk was seriously considered on the Sonic/Mario level, as short-lived as it was.
Bonk was ok, but not six dollars in 2006 ok.
Question: Anyone know if the TurboGrafx emulation also has a "turbo" switch function? I imagine Bonk's Adventure could get pretty tiring if you had to manually mash button II in order to do the Bonk flying spin.
One part of me is glad that the games are in their original form, but another part of me wishes that they had modified them someway. Maybe they'll release modified games later that include online play or something. I don't know if they understand how popular that would be...well, maybe they do, and that's why they're not doing it. They don't want users to spend $6 on a game then play that online the entire time, they want them to spend $50 instead :P
Maybe someone will mod the games eventually...where there's a will, there's a way, no?
Oh, and does anyone know how Bomberman '93 stacks up to other Bombermans, like Super Bomberman II or something?
Finally, I think that the VC would be fantastic if they had a quick demo of the game first, or a video of it in action, or something, if they don't already.
