 Earthquake Zones in Canada

.

Most simply, earthquake zones may be considered to be regions on a map where earthquakes historically occur in clusters. Seismologists often use the term seismic zones  to mean areas where the seismicity likely shares a common cause. For the purposes of calculating probabilistic ground motions for seismic hazard assessment, seismic zones imply regions on a map which have a common areal rate of seismicity.
