A new chassis and some tweaking of the engine allowed the 1952 HWM to run well in a number secondary events including a race win for Paul Frere in the Grand Prix des Frontieres and another for Macklin in the International Trophy. In terms of championship racing the highlight of the cars' career was a fifth place for Frere in Belgium.
