To celebrate Cessna’s 80th birthday, Flight International is publishing a 2007 calendar reproducing 12 of our original cutaway drawings of Cessna aircraft throughout the decades, from the C152 Aerobat in 1970 to the newly-certificated Mustang light jet.

The Airline IT Trends Survey, co-sponsored by Airline Business and SITA, has established itself as the industry’s premier technology survey. The research provides a detailed snapshot of where the airline industry stands in embracing new technology and gives trends on where investments are being made. This year we added some new questions to reflect emerging trends. For the first time we asked airlines for the number of their passengers using the Internet to check-in, giving us a better picture of how fast this part of the passenger journey is changing. Results from a sample of the Top 200 airlines are broken down by geography and by airline size, including trend comparisons with previous years (although data for individual airlines remains confidential). The Airport IT Trends Survey is the first global research into the airport IT environment produced under a partnership between ACI, Airline Business and SITA. The research is designed to provide trend data on the most significant high level management issues in the fast-changing IT landscape.
Building on the solid foundation from last year, it is recognised as the most comprehensive survey of its type worldwide. It charts the progress airports are achieving as they adapt to new technologies and warrants close attention from airlines, governments and key stakeholders alike. With its sister report the Airline IT Trends Survey, the two studies fix in place large sections of what has become a complicated aviation IT jigsaw. For the first time, the Airport Benchmarking Report from the Air Transport Research Society (ATRS), provides a truly global benchmark against which the performance of the world’s leading airports can be measured. The report measures and compares three aspects of airport operation: (i) productivity and efficiency (ii) unit cost and (iii) financial results for some 70 airports across Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. Financiers, airlines analysts or anyone with an interest in comparing the fundamental operational performance of the leading world airports.
The ATRS Airport Benchmarking Report consists of three parts: Part I: provides a summary of the research methodology and key results. It contains 19 summary tables and 9 summary charts covering the main aspects of airport operation and management, including labour productivity, total factor productivity, unit cost and revenue generation. Part II: provides over 200 detailed charts and tables comparing most dimensions of airport performance across airports. It also provides comparisons of status of the airports in terms of traffic volume, number of employees and airside and terminal-side capacity. Part III: provides one-page profiles for 68 airports included within the report. It also provides descriptions of the methodology and sources data and information.
