‘The Writer and the City is an intimate, idiosyncratic new series ... it comes as a refreshing antidote to the average city guide’ Traveller Magazine
A series that Booklist says 'will prove to be prime reading for travel lovers,' The Writer and the City began as an idea to have great authors write about cities they know best, in beautifully produced, pocket-sized books, providing exactly what is missing in ordinary travel guides: insights and imagination that lead the reader into those parts of a city no other guide can reach.
Since then readers have strolled through Paris with Edmund White (The Flâneur), accompanied Peter Carey (30 Days in Sydney) on his return to Sydney after a seventeen-year absence and unlocked the mysteries of Florence with David Leavitt (Florence, A Delicate Case).
What can readers look forward to next?
