My SHARP Zaurus pages

The Zaurus SL-C3000 (and its successor, the SL-C3100) is a clamshell PDA with a full qwerty keyboard and a great VGA TFT screen. It is smaller than the HP 200LX palmtop.

I try to make it as useful for daily work as my old HP 200LX was. This is not easy, but thanks to the great variety of software available for Linux it is possible.

Being an enthusiast for Zaurus PDAs, I decided to share my work with others here. However, besides creating these web pages, I decided to found a business called hermocom: Hertrich Mobile Computing.

hermocom offers products and services for HP palmtop and Sharp Zaurus users.
Are you looking for a successor for your HP 200LX palmtop or for a really productive Zaurus setup? With the weeXpc, hermocom may have what you are looking for! Click the banner:

Currently, my most important project in this regard is the weeXpc. weeXpc is a software platform for productivity. Based on Linux with X11, GTK+, QT and many other common software parts, weeXpc allows to use many powerful PC programs on the Zaurus.

ZPS - my Zaurus Productivity Setup

My first approach to make the Zaurus a productivity tool was to use the Sharp ROM and QTopia based "Cacko ROM". That ROM is good for PDA-style usage of the Zaurus while it also provides a lot of options for those who rather want a "mini laptop" than a PDA.

My notes for the Cacko ROM based setup can be viewed below. It is meant as a help for everyone who wants to configure their Zaurus for productivity purposes.

This project is finished. It has some unfinished parts, which will not be further developed. Click here to read my Cacko-ROM-based Zaurus Productivity Setup documentation
