TSN.ca CFL Power Rankings

There's a change at the top and quarterback injuries have created a major change for this week's edition of TSN.ca's CFL Power Rankings.

Updated October 1

9-3-1
Jarious Jackson is starting to win me over, and it has a lot to do with his 23-for-28 passing against the Stamps, easily the most accurate performance of his pro career. With quarterbacks dropping throughout the league, the Lions are reaping the rewards of their quarterback depth.
8-4-1
A sloppy effort against the TiCats, even if it resulted in a win. The receivers dropped a bunch, contributing to Kevin Glenn's worst game of the year by far and it was a narrow home win over the worst team in the league playing a backup quarterback.
8-5
Took care of business against Montreal, with an impressive 502 yards in total offence, 428 of which involved Kerry Joseph. A touch more in the running game from Wes Cates, or even Corey Holmes, would help.
6-7
A nice win in Edmonton, coupled with a healthy starting quarterback, gives the Argos a big boost in the rankings, even if they're not a dramatically better team this week.
6-7
The once-formidable Alouettes offensive line has been a trouble spot all season, and it was no different against Saskatchewan with five sacks allowed and only 31 yards rushing. On the plus side, Anthony Calvillo is an improvement on the backups that have been keeping the position warm.
6-6-1
Now we hit the trouble spots. The Stamps were already going without starting QB Henry Burris, then lost Akili Smith against the Lions, leaving Barrick Nealy to play the role of deer in the headlights. To make matters worse, it doesn't do much to have the Stamps receiving corps without a quarterback capable of getting the ball to them.
5-7-1
Edmonton's only down to second-stringer, Stefan LeFors, after Ricky Ray was flattened by Argos LB Willie Pile, but LeFors put up an unimpressive 66 yards on 22 passes against the Argos.
2-11
Just as the TiCats are starting to get more competitive, even without Casey Printers, a shoulder injury to Jesse Lumsden only makes it a steeper uphill climb.

Note: Power Rankings are produced using a formula that takes into account a compilation of invidual player grades. Grades take into account statistical production, big games and level of competition. The grades also take into account which players are in the lineup to replace those who are out due to injury and are intended to reflect which team would win a game on a neutral field.
