Farhan Lalji has covered some of the biggest sporting events in North America during his time at TSN. The list includes the Stanley Cup and NBA Finals, NHL, MLB and NBA All-Star games, the US Open and PGA Championships, and of course, the Grey Cup.
Lalji's love of sports began at an early age. Born in Tanzania, he started his career as the Sports Information Director at Simon Fraser University from 1991-94. Lalji is a graduate of SFU in Liberal Arts with a minor in communications and history.
Upon leaving SFU in 1994 Lalji worked as a producer and reporter on the "Sports Machine" at CKWX radio in Vancouver. From 1995-97 he was a sports and weekend news anchor for CBC, before joining TSN in 1997.
Lalji has also had an extensive involvement in football at various levels for the past 20 years. First at high school and then later at SFU, he has been involved both as a player and a coach. Lalji is currently the head football coach at New Westminster Secondary School just outside of Vancouver and is a member of the BCSSFA's board of directors.
Along with his reporting duties with TSN, Lalji also occasionally serves as an anchor with CTV9 in Vancouver.
