One of the interesting questions so far this year in the CFL is, why are there so many injuries to quarterbacks?
It is true that going into the season, if you expect your quarterback to stay healthy all 18 games, you are embracing unrealistic expectations. You have to spend time, money and energy in making sure that quarterback number two is as close in ability to quarterback number one as possible. And the the can be said for quarterback number three!

When I was 15, I made a shortlist of the things I most wanted to do in life. Just to be clear, completing the human DNA map and mastering quantum physics weren't exactly on my radar.

Memorable dates in history. If you are in the 40-45 or older you will remember where you were this Friday some 35 years ago. It was Game Eight of the first and only Summit Series.

"Hey, did you see that brawl between the Riders and Lions on Saturday night?"
That question will be asked over and over again this week from CFL fans across the country. It's a tell-all of who fought who, who got the most shots in an what effect it had on the game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs could start the season without one of their key forwards, as centre Kyle Wellwood may require additional surgery.
The team received word early Friday evening that extensive testing had discovered an issue in the same abdominal area that was surgically repaired in Montreal last season. The extent of the damage isn't known, and there is also the possibility the injury could be far more significant than originally feared.

No one is forgetting Claude Giroux's name in Philadelphia now. After starring for Canada in the junior Super Series, Giroux is not just playing well in Flyer camp, he's been dominating.
He was named tourney MVP in the Flyers' opening few days and GM Paul Holmgren says he's been one of their best players, period, and getting better every day.

McNabb is one of my favourite players in the NFL because of the way he handles adversity with intelligence and grace, but I do not think his statements this week about black quarterbacks are correct.
