Golovin, who titled in Slovenia less than two weeks ago, whipped German wild card and crowd favorite Martina Muller 6-1, 6-1, while Safina came from behind to best Slovenian Katarina Srebotnik 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 at Porsche Arena.
