Chris Perugini may be an OHL rookie, but he hasn't looked the part so far.
Perugini stopped all three shootout attempts and Jamie McGinn scored the deciding goal Sunday to lift the Ottawa 67's to a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Kingston Frontenacs in Ontario Hockey League action.
Perugini, making just his second OHL start, denied Jesse Brown, Cory Emmerton and Nathan Moon. McGinn beat Kingston netminder Jason Guy to improve the 67s' start on the season to 4-0-0-1.
"It was a good time," said the 16-year-old Perugini, who earned the win in his first-ever OHL shootout to improve to 2-0 on the season. "I thrive off pressure. I just kept calm and did what I could do."
Elsewhere in the OHL on Sunday, it was: Guelph 5, London 0; Niagara 7, Sudbury 4; Peterborough 4, Oshawa 3 (SO); Kitchener 4, Sarnia 2; and Sault Ste. Marie 7, Owen Sound 4.
At Ottawa, Methot, Thomas Kiriakou and Michael Latta scored in regulation for the 67's.
Brown had a goal and an assist for the Frontenacs, while Moon and Bobby Mignardi scored the other goals for Kingston (1-3-0-1).
Perugini and Guy each made 34 stops throughout regulation and overtime.
