Geroy Simon's touchdown catch late in the fourth was the difference as the B.C. Lions won their fifth in a row, putting another nail in Edmonton's playoff hopes with a 24-18 victory over the Eskimos on Saturday.
The Lions improved to 11-3-1 and further solidified their hold on first place in the West Division, five points up on Saskatchewan. The loss gives the Roughriders a playoff berth. The Eskimos (5-9-1) remained two points back of Calgary for third spot in the West.
