Tick talk: avoiding these pests and the diseases they can carry
When summer arrives and Minnesotans flock outside, they share the scenery with several species of ticks. Although some ticks can carry diseases that can be transmitted to humans, with just a bit of precaution Minnesotans can enjoy their beautiful state even during peak tick season.

As the summer sun recedes, it makes way for the autumn stars sweeping in. Many belong to water constellations like Pisces, Capricornus, and Aquarius, which are now chasing the Milky Way westward. Late evenings are graced by a furiously brightening Mars, and approaching morning sees Venus soar to a lofty throne, there to preside until the break of day.

Curb your refined carbs--not your "good" carbs
Only three categories of food exist: protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Carbohydrates have been painted as the heavy in the diet wars, especially by the Atkins diet and its spinoffs. But there is no heavy. We have to eat some carbohydrates; as with fats and even protein, the key is to choose wisely.
