Round 3 Next Goal Program applications now closed

8 Jun 2007 - Jason Murnane

Applications for the third round of the AFLPA / AFL SportsReady Next Goal Program are now closed.

Tailored for those players in the middle to final stages of their AFL career, the Next Goal program has helped make the transition out of football into the non-footy workforce smoother for AFL players.

The joint AFL Players' Association and AFL SportsReady initiative has seen a significant number of AFL Players undertake tailored and valuable work experience across a diverse range of industries and professions.

Players have received practical work experience in industries such as, finance & banking, real estate & property development, golf, horse racing, heavy machinery to name but a few.

If a player has an interest or an aptitude for a particular field, the Next Goal program provides an excellent method of exploring this interest.

The next round of Next Goal applications (round 4) close Friday 28th September.

AFL Players interested in obtaining more information on the practical and innovative work placement program are advised to contact the AFLPA on 03 9926 1344.
