AFLPA holds Next Goal Breakfast

Over three hundred invited guests from the worlds of AFL football and business this morning enjoyed the AFL Players' Association / AFL SportsReady Next Goal breakfast.
The breakfast serves as a celebration of the innovative Next Goal program which provides tailored work experience to AFL players.
Speakers including former Test cricket and VFL star and Austalia's best selling author Max Walker entertained the crowd with a number of anecdotes and impressed upon attendees the importance of following your dreams.
Next Goal participants Shane Crawford, Simon Beaumont and Sam Fisher also spoke, with the former Bronwnlow Medalist and AFLPA MVP Shane Crawford showing his passion for horseracing via his Next Goal work placement with Freedman Brothers Racing.
Saint Sam Fisher also spoke on his Next Goal placement with the Sandhurst Golf club and his dream of one day becoming a golf professional.
Former Hawk and Blue and current full time financial industry employee Simon Beaumont spoke of the ability of the Next Goal program to open doors into industry.
The breakfast was hosted by broadcasting doyen Tim Lane and included such VIP guests as AFLPA CEO Brendon Gale, AFL SportsReady CEO Phillip Wallbridge, AFL Commissioner Bill Kelty; Rick Hart - Fremantle Chairman; Rick Aylett - Kangaroos CEO; Archie Fraser - St Kilda CEO; Ian Robson - Hawthorn CEO; Kevin Sheedy - Essendon Coach; Neil Balme - Geelong GM Football Operations; Mark Evans - Hawthorn GM Football Operations; Donald McDonald - Kangaroos GM Football Operations; and Joel Bowden - Richmond & AFLPA Executive Committee Member PLUS many a number of current and former AFL players & representatives of companies involved in the program were also in attendance.
