General Policy - AFLPA Member Data

The AFL Players' Association, a not-for-profit organisation, collects data on its present and past members to enable the facilitation of programs which will best assist its members.

It is the AFLPA's policy not to disclose this data to external organisations other than where it is necessary for the operation and management of the activities of the AFLPA, and the provision of programs and services to the members, such as the management of the information technology system and the delivery of the AFLPA Player Development Program.

All information collected by the AFLPA is stored on the AFLPA database and the AFLPA takes reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access, use or modification to the information; and secure the information stored in an electronic form.

All staff members with access to the information are obliged to keep that information confidential.

General Policy - AFLPA Player Agent/Manager Data

The AFLPA collects data on the Player Agents/Managers who represent AFLPA members. This information includes contact addresses and phone numbers, ABNs and general client lists. It is the AFLPA's policy to disclose contact phone numbers and addresses of player agents/managers to the general public through phone enquires and the AFLPA website - www.aflpa.com.au

General client lists are not disclosed, however the AFLPA does provide information regarding individual player/agent relationships to the AFL, clubs and the media on a request basis.

Access to information held:


Players may request access to their personal data held by the AFLPA by contacting the AFLPA's Football & Licensing Administration Manager on (03) 9328 8001 or fax (03) 9328 8995 during business hours.

Player agents/managers may contact the AFLPA on phone 03 9328 8001, fax 03 9328 8995 or e-mail info@aflpa.com.au to request a copy of the data held by the AFLPA concerning their business.

Information Disclosed:

Information is disclosed to external organisations:

  • in connection with the delivery of services to members under the AFLPA Player Development Program. Such information may consist of playing histories, education status, management details, addresses and phone numbers
  • in connection with the management of the information technology system. Such information may consist of date of birth, telephone numbers and passwords.

All information is disclosed on the strict understanding that this information is not to be used for any other purpose other than for the specific purpose for which the information is supplied.

The AFLPA may also disclose, with the consent of the member, relevant personal information to external organisations which require such information for the provision of services to the member.
The AFLPA takes reasonable steps to ensure that these organisations are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation to the personal information disclosed to them.  

Correction of Information:

Players can contact the AFLPA on 03 9328 8001, by fax 03 9328 8995 or by e-mail info@aflpa.com.au to make changes to information held by the AFLPA where relevant personal details such as address, contact telephone numbers, etc change, or the player becomes aware that the information held by the AFLPA is incorrect.
