Northern BC health sciences centre will help double medical school graduates

As part of the government’s program to almost double the number of medical school graduates in the province by 2005, a new $12 million health sciences centre is being built at the University of Northern BC. Slated for completion in fall of 2004, the new facility will help renew Northern health care and expand the supply of health professionals.

The project continues the government’s $134 million Life Sciences Initiative dedicated to increase first year medical school spaces. Currently, other new Life Sciences Centres are being built at the University of BC and the University of Victoria.
