Born in Newark in 1949 to an Irish mother and an Italian father, Nick Toshes's most recent book is The Last Opium Den. He is also the author of the acclaimed biographies of Dean Martin (Dino), Mafia financier Michele Sindona (Power on Earth), Sonny Liston (The Devil and Sonny Liston), and Jerry Lee Lewis (Hellfire); and of the novels Trinities and Cut Numbers. He lives in New York City and is a contributing editor at Vanity Fair.
