Q: What is mySimon?
A: mySimon is a comparison shopping site for almost everything: Apparel, computers, electronics, jewelry, video games, and more. We gather prices on millions of products from thousands of stores, so you can compare products and find the lowest price before you buy.
Q: How does mySimon work?
A: Let's say you're looking for a Canon digital camera. You can search mySimon for "Canon PowerShot." You will get a list of all Canon PowerShot cameras, with prices from stores that have it in stock, like Circuit City or Best Buy. This way you can see who has the best price. We give you links directly to those sites, should you decide you're ready to buy.
Q: How does mySimon list merchants?
A: Some stores pay us a fee to be listed at the top of our search results, but you can always sort your results alphabetically by store, from lowest to highest price, or by merchant rating.
Q: What are "mySimon Certified" merchants?
A: A mySimon Certified merchant participates in the CNET Certified Store Program. You can find out more information about that program here.
Q: How do I search for a product?
A: Go to http://www.mysimon.com. In the search box, type the name of the item you're looking for and then click the "Go" button. If you want to search within one specific category, like Home and Garden, choose that category from pull-down list to the right of the search box.
Q: How do I sort the search results?
A: You can sort your search results by clicking on the name of any column: Store, Price, Product Name, and so on. Click once, and the items will sort in ascending order; click again, and the items will sort in descending order.
Q: Can I search for a book by ISBN?
A: Yes. Just type the ISBN into the Search box at the top of a mySimon page and press the "Go" button.
Q: Why are prices sometimes different on the merchants' sites?
A: "There are two reasons why prices may differ:
  1. Update issue: Most of our merchants provide us with updated product and price information either by a datafeed or a download directly from their listings. Between these updates, a merchant may change some prices, and those prices may vary until the next update to our site.
  2. Shopping cart specials: Some merchants give instant discounts when you add a product to your shopping cart. When this happens, mySimon lists the discounted price, but you may see the list price before you click the Buy button. The discounted price appears once you add the item to your shopping cart."
Q: What about sales tax and shipping?
A: We try to display sales tax and shipping information for as many products as possible. If we don't have this information, you can get it from the merchants' sites.
Q: I don't live in the United States. Can I still use mySimon?
A: All prices listed on mySimon are in U.S. dollars, and site content is only in English. The majority of our merchants are based in the United States, but many do ship internationally. Contact the merchants directly to ask about shipping charges and currency exchange rates.
Q: Where's the stuff I ordered?
A: At mySimon we don't actually sell or ship anything. If you have a question about your purchase, contact the merchant directly for quick assistance. You can find the merchant's web site by clicking on the merchant's name on our results pages. Of course, we're always here to help you if you're unable to obtain assistance from the merchant.
Q: I want to rate a merchant. Where can I do that?
A: We do not have that option available to our customers yet, but we are working on a new system to include user input.
Q: I hear you have an awesome weekly newsletter. How can I sign up?
A: You can sign up for our free weekly newsletter or make changes to your newsletter subscriptions at the mySimon Newsletter Center.
Q: Why am I getting a broken link message?
A: If you find a broken link on our site, please let us know. We will fix it as soon as possible!
Q: I have a problem with a mySimon merchant. Can you help me?
A: Please send us an email and tell us what happened. Although we can't intervene in a transaction you make with a merchant, we want to know if a merchant is engaged in sales practices that are not in line with our Merchant Code of Conduct.
