[Metacritic's 2003 PC Game of the Year] The PC version has enhanced features including improved graphics and sound, additional PC controls, as well as several options for players to customize the game. "Welcome to Vice City. Welcome to the 1980s." Having just made it back onto the streets of Liberty City after a long stretch in maximum security, Tommy Vercetti is sent to Vice City by his old boss, Sonny Forelli. They were understandably nervous about his re-appearance in Liberty City, so a trip down south seemed like a good idea. But all does not go smoothly upon his arrival in the glamorous, hedonistic metropolis of Vice City. He's set up and is left with no money and no merchandise. Sonny wants his money back, but the biker gangs, Cuban gangsters, and corrupt politicians stand in his way. Most of Vice City seems to want Tommy dead. His only answer is to fight back and take over the city himself. Vice City offers vehicular pleasures to suit every taste. For the speed enthusiast, there's high-performance cars and motorbikes. For the sportsman, a powerboat or a golf buggy lets you enjoy the great outdoors. For those that need that sense of freedom and escape, why not charter a helicopter and see the beauty of Vice City from the air? [Rockstar]

G4 TV
Best of all, the numerous bugs and glitches that brought the PS2 version down a notch have been cleaned up and eliminated, for the most part. Enemies no longer shoot you through solid walls, you no longer randomly lose health while running, and cars remain in your garage until you take them out.

Vice City doesn't improve much on the few shortcomings of its predecessor. Fortunately, it doesn't have to. [Aug 2003, p.74]

All Game Guide
More interiors in Vice City would be welcome, but the city is huge with plenty of unique terrain. It's a little disappointing that jetliners and more planes aren't available, but the thrill of flying the Hunter and going on multiple Vigilante missions makes up for it.

Its longevity is a wonderful thing, since a sequel is still some time away, and this is one game that you really don't want to stop playing. Even after you've gotten tired of the carnage, it's fun to load it up and just cruise around Vice City listening to the radio.

Best of all, Vice City isn’t quite what we expect from a PC game today. It doesn’t fit neatly into any genre, so a freshness factor makes gunning down cops and knocking over banks seem even more innovative and new.

Many of today's action games compel gamers to race through them as quickly as possible, rarely stopping to enjoy the scenery, but Vice City is the total opposite. It's a game you want to soak in; a game you want to take in slowly and enjoy every moment.

There isn't a more painful torture than to try a mission for 30 times without any luck. There were moments when I felt that if I hadn't spend a fortune on my computer I would have thrown it outside and I'm really seeing the world from above, from the 8th floor. On the other hand I think I'd go nuts without games like GTA.

Jack T. gave it a10:
absoloutely jawdropping game, so innovative (as the GTA series always is).

Stuart R. gave it a10:
Truly one of the greats. Fire it up for a speed run and marvel at the congruity of the story and the variety of the missions. Worth getting back into it for joey's nos mod alone. Not as big as San An, but a more concise and directed experience, and probably more intriging.

Mike gave it a7:
I liked this game, but it was the same as GTA 3 not much difference in terms of grpahics.

R. Dalvi gave it a10:
Very ahrd but at the same time so entertaining that it is very hard to stop playing it even though you have not completed it.

Marc B. gave it a10:
Heyyo, Amazing game. I love it. That's why even I had to mod it. If only GTASA had the same modding capabilities I tell ya...

Djounaid D. gave it a10:
Its so cool game I was playing it from the first day of it bealive me.

Craig C. gave it a5:
This game is awesome I played it with my friend and we could get girls on bikes and there were cheat codes.
