32nd America's Cup - The Game throws you in at the deep end of this supreme challenge in Spain, off the coast of Valencia, where the city is faithfully reproduced with Port America's Cup, the home of the 12 teams vying to win international sport's oldest prizes. Take the helm of one of the 11 official challengers and win the Louis Vuitton Cup, where you will be up against all the boats in the competition. Victory will give you the chance to take part in the 32nd America's Cup competition, and to challenge Alinghi, the famous Swiss team and defender of the America's Cup. While the 32nd America's Cup content is the spectacular new highlight in this latest edition of Virtual Skipper, the other classes of boat have not been forgotten! Players can therefore skipper four types of boat, each behaving totally differently, on an ultra-realistic sea, which has been modeled and animated to perfection. In addition to the water courses at Valencia, Trapani, Marseille and Malmo-Skane, all venues visited by the 32nd America's Cup, the game includes 10 other famous competitive sailing locations. An editor also enables you to create and incorporate your own water courses and regattas and you therefore have a host of different maps to guarantee renewed and continued gameplay fun in the Internet multiplayer games. PC Format
A minority interest, certainly, but America's Cup still manages to be relaxing and really quite tense in equal measure. [June 2007, p.62]

PC Zone UK
In short, this is really good, albeit inescapably and transparently niche. [Aug 2007, p.68]

Er that crap about the DRM makes no sense, i checked the DRM site, the DRM has full vista/xp certification and the company making it is a certified Microsoft Partner... I highly doubt M$ would approve something that could create harm and cause instability to Windows! People who think they have more expertise than MS about those issues should apply and earn good salaries instead of bitching on forums :) that put aside, that game RULES, it's the best sailing game EVER, the water effects are amazing, and honestly even if you don't like sailing you can only enjoy this simulation.... Match Racing is very vivd, and full of action. If you need to get convinced download the demo... or watch a live regatta on TV! (Go Alinghi! you're the best!).

Bob J gave it a10:
The best sailing game/simulation on the market. It has improved greatly from VSK4 with the rules umpire spot on 99% of the time. The graphics are excellent also which is a bonus. The inbuilt editor gives you plenty of replayability and the online game is great as well. If you're not into sailing then this isn't for you obviously but for anyone with even a passing interest in the sport this is a must buy imo.

gave it a0:
I remember the original demo for Virtual Skipper ... not great, but I would say had potential. Then they decided to use Starforce copy protection for the full versions. Too bad for them ... I will not let a Starforced game anywhere near my computer.

Geordie R gave it a0:
I did place a pre-order for this, but at the last moment found out that it uses starforce as DRM, and cancelled the pre-order. Starforce wrecked two DVDRW I had before I learned about it, not to mention the OS instabilities after it was installed and what makes it even worse, I asked about the DRM which I always do now, and the sales agent said there was none, I found out from other simmers that it uses starforce, and now it has been confirmed as such. I now use my PC for work as much as play, and I can't afford to have any Starforce installed as only a full format gets rid of it, and its instabilities and exploits. Starforces own removal tool fails to work, and its still left there after the protected game is removed, and the removal tool is used. I vowed that no other Starforce game would be installed on my PC, and I would help warn others of the issues it can cause. I also follow other review sites policy of Starforce DRM = 0 review score, had it been any other DRM, it would have got a 10 on looks alone, such a shame for this promising sim after the let down of Silent Hunter 4.
