Security advisory: multiple security vendors have reported and Real has acknowledged a vulnerability in recent versions of RealPlayer that could allow remote code execution. Information Systems & Computing (ISC) suggests updating to the current versions of RealPlayer, available below.

Real Networks' Real Players are recommended products for watching or listening to streaming multimedia files on the web. They let you play live and on-demand audio and video files with limited download delays. After you have clicked an audio or video file, you can continue to use your Web browser while the file is playing.

Download

The Real Players are freeware; they are available for download using your PennKey and password.

Mac OS

Click on the download link below. A disk image file will automatically download to the desktop. Double-click on the .dmg file to mount it and than launch the program. After installing, you can delete the .dmg file from the desktop.

Windows

Click on the download link below. In the "Save As" window, create or go to the directory in which you want to save the file, append .exe to the file name if it is not already there, and click "Save". Open this directory, double-click the installation file, and follow the on-screen instructions accepting the defaults. After you finish, you can delete the installation file.
