(Currently available in the UK/EU only) Parkour, the art of movement, is less a sport and more a way of life. Its participants, known as Free Runners or Traceurs, view the environment and its obstacles, urban or natural, as a series of challenges to be overcome. To the Traceurs, parkour has a philosophical appeal: they feel transformed by the experience, free from the grind of city life. Since its inception in Paris during the mid-1980s, it has spread across the globe and now has an international army of exponents and enthusiasts. In Free Running, the concrete jungle becomes your urban playground as you run, vault, jump or climb over obstacles in the most fluid and flowing manner possible. Test the boundaries of human ability as you perform death-defying leaps and jaw-dropping trips across inner-city rooftops. To be crowned King of Parkour, you must master over 50 moves, tricks and stunts including 'Kong Vaults', 'Pharaoh Climbs', 'Rail Split Vaults' and 'Vertical Wall Runs' in a variety of game modes while racing against human or computer-controlled competitors. Games Master UK
It's fiddly and, occasionally, exasperating, but there's good platforming here. [May 2007, p.71]
70
Edge Magazine
It may be separated into modest zones, each British in the worst of ways and built for free running more than roaming, but to become its king can be spellbinding. [Feb 2007, p.82]
60
Playstation Official Magazine UK
Tricking over obstacles is a huge part of the game, but your runner's treacle-slow reactions mean that most attempts to, say, butterfly kick over a wall will leave you in a ragdoll heap. [Apr 2007, p.96]
60
Pure Magazine UK
A nice idea but the finger dexterity needed to make a fluid trick game is just too much. [May 2007, p.81]
50
Pro-G
A sense of unfulfilled potential runs throughout Free Running.

EuroGamer
Free Running is a noble effort to apply the platform game template to a seemingly appropriate real world pastime, but it's hamstrung from the start by gameplay that is neither agile nor fluid enough to deliver an engaging experience, and by a concept that is considerably less unique on a joypad as it is in reality.

Official Playstation 2 Magazine UK
Hardcore free runners may find something to jump up and down about; everyone else should stick to watching Sebastian Foucan. [Feb 2007, p.75]

Sydney Morning Herald
The low price makes it tempting though Free Running is more likely to give you a headache and sore thumbs than get your adrenaline pumping with death-defying stunts.
