It had become the ultimate contradiction of themes, Independence Day in America, as much so as if there had been something known as Virtuousness Day in the ancient city of

Our spiritually ex-patriate American, watching all of this from a distance remembered reading something once in a medical journal about schizophrenia and about how one of the telltale signs of this condition’s presence was found in an individual’s ability to simultaneously hold two completely contradictory ideas, and if this wasn’t a description of what had happened to this country, he didn’t know what could be.

During the IRA terrorist campaign Scotland was not considered a target. However, Tony Blair and the Labour party, including the former first minister Jack McConnell, who supported the illegal Iraqi war, have now made Scotland an inevitable prime target by sending our troops to Iraq.

Category: IRAN Memo to Joe Lieberman: The reason Iraq has become the "central front of the war on terror" is that the US invaded Iraq for its oil, and to neutralize it for Israel.
The Iraqi people want their country, now under American occupation, back. And Joe, if you think that military action against Iran (which will inevitably lead to a counter attack against our soldiers in Iraq) is such a fantastic idea right now, have you persuaded all of your family of appropriate military age to enlist in any of the armed services? Are any of them serving on the front lines in Afghanistan or Iraq? I'd be willing to bet that the answer is no. It's always "other people's families" who are supposed to do that for you. President Bush spared former White House aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby from a 2½-year prison term in the CIA leak investigation Monday, delivering a political thunderbolt in the highly charged criminal case. Bush said the sentence was just too harsh.

The Pentagon is paying a contractor at least $900,000 (€666,000) to destroy old F-14s, a jet affectionately nicknamed "the turkey," rather than sell the spares at the risk of their falling into the wrong hands, including Iran's.

Seriously, why would Iran do something that provocative, when it is clear to anyone with half a bran that Iran wishes to avoid war with the US? The US is the unprovoked aggressor. The US invaded Afghanistan over a gas pipeline. The US invaded Iraq for oil and Israel. Neither Afghanistan nor Iraq had attacked the US, nor posed a threat. Now Iran is in the cross hairs. Ahmadinajad knows the US is going to attack his country and he is making preparations, but he is not going to give the US any excuse. The US will have to live with the reputation of having attacked yet another innocent nation, because Israel ordered it to. It's about time that members of Congress stood up to defend our Constitution earnestly.

On the ground and especially in the air, U.S. forces are now applying a sledgehammer approach to their counterinsurgency operations, firing blindly into crowds and at civilians after attacks, or suspected attacks, by the Taliban, and calling down massive firepower on residential areas. British commanders are increasingly concerned about the American policy of "Kill 'em all; let God sort 'em out," and blame the recent escalation on newly installed NATO commander, the U.S. General Dan McNeill, as the Observer notes:
