Rugby Meeting between Mbeki and White postponed Springbok coach Jake White's meeting with President Thabo Mbeki has been postponed, the Presidency announced on Thursday. It was postponed at White's request, presidential spokesperson Mukoni Ratshitanga said in a statement. "The Presidency will schedule another meeting if or when Mr White makes another request in future," he said.

Motor racing India offered Formula One race for 2009 India has been made a conditional offer to stage a Formula One grand prix in 2009, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Suresh Kalmadi said on Thursday. "We have received a letter in this regard from Bernie Ecclestone, CEO of Formula One. The IOA will be the promoter and the first event will be held in 2009," he told a news conference.

Rugby NZ injury woes overshadow Canada build-up New Zealand's mounting injury toll claimed another victim on Thursday when All Blacks centre Conrad Smith was ruled out this weekend's Test against Canada in Hamilton. Smith had been hoping to make his international comeback on Saturday but was forced to delay his return because of lingering problems with his troublesome hamstring.
