Videoconferencing (IP and ISDN) refers to a fully-interactive, "virtual meeting" between two or more groups or individuals, at two or more geographically-separated points. Using a computer and a data line, you can see, talk to, and "virtually" interact with other conference participants as though you were sitting across the table from them.

Videoconference Facilities

Penn Video Services offers the use of a state-of-the-art conference room, designed to support a wide range of multimedia and communications needs.

The space can be configured to accommodate two separate events of 15-20 people, or one large event seating 35-50 people, and features:

• plasma-screen displays
• LCD projection
• surround-sound
• DVD and VHS players
• document camera
• on-site computer or guest laptop display

This facility is equipped with five cameras and can provide worldwide videoconference calls using either IP or ISDN technology. Additionally, the conference rooms are connected to Internet2 and can support high-definition streaming and Access Grid videoconferencing.
