Freeman signs with ICM

U.K. comedian Martin Freeman has signed with ICM. The actor starred in the U.K. version of "The Office" opposite Ricky Gervais and was nominated for a BAFTA for best comedy performance. His film credits include "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," "Shaun of the Dead" and "Love Actually." Freeman next appears in "Hot Fuzz" for Rogue Pictures, "The Good Night" opposite Penelope Cruz and Gwyneth Paltrow and "Dedication" for the Weinstein Co. He also starred in the BBC comedy series "The Robinsons." Freeman also is repped by Michael Wiggs in the U.K.

Abdul not idle, moves to APA

Paula Abdul has signed with APA. The agency will work with her on developing multigenerational, international lifestyle branding opportunities. Abdul, who is in her sixth season as a judge on Fox's hit series "American Idol," has shared in the four Emmy nominations that the show has received for best reality competition program. The singer-dancer-choreographer started her career as a Los Angeles Laker Girl and choreographer for the squad. She went on to choreograph videos for such artists as the Jacksons, Janet Jackson and Duran Duran, among many others, and won two Emmys for choreography for Fox's late-1980s series "The Tracey Ullman Show." In the early 1990s, she made a name for herself in the music world with her debut album, "Forever Your Girl," followed by such albums as "Spellbound" and "Head Over Heels." Her video for the song "Opposites Attract" won a Grammy for shortform music video in 1991.

ICM signs Ice-T, actor

Ice-T and Freddy Rodriguez have signed with ICM. Ice-T has inked with the agency in all areas. The rapper-actor-producer-author, now part of the cast of NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," began his career as a pioneering force in the West Coast hip-hop scene. He moved into acting, landing his first film role in the 1991 feature "New Jack City."

Ice-T, who also is a lecturer and wrote the book "The Ice Opinion," is managed by Jorge Hinojos.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez was nominated for a supporting actor Emmy for his role as Federico on HBO's "Six Feet Under." This past year, he appeared in the feature film "Bobby," which earned a SAG Award nomination for best ensemble.

Four agents on new Endeavor

Endeavor has promoted Erin Junkin, Theresa Kang, Amanda Kogan and Sarah Lemkin to agent. Junkin and Kang have been upped to agents in the television literary department, Kogan has been promoted to agent in the alternative television department, and Lemkin has been named agent in the motion picture literary department. Junkin started at Endeavor in 2003 as an intern and has since worked for partners Ariel Emanuel, Paul Haas, Ari Greenburg and most recently Rick Rosen. Kang also joined Endeavor in 2003 as an assistant. She has worked in the television and motion picture departments for partners Haas, Christopher Donnelly, Emanuel and most recently Greenburg. Kogan has been with Endeavor for more than three years, most recently as the television literary coordinator. Before that, she worked for partners Rosen and Richard Weitz and worked at NBC and Pemrick/Fronk.

Dillon joins CAA's force

Matt Dillon has signed with CAA for representation. Until recently, the actor had been repped by Endeavor. Dillon was nominated for an Academy Award as well as a Golden Globe last year for his turn as a racist cop in the Oscar-winning "Crash." The role netted him an Independent Spirit Award for best supporting male actor. Dillon also starred in "You, Me and Dupree" and "Factotum" and co-wrote, starred in and directed 2002's "City of Ghosts." He continues to be repped by managers Vic Ramos and Sandy Erickson.
