Metro (West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive) co-ordinates public transport in West Yorkshire.

Timetables and fares
Visit Metro's website for up to date details of all local bus timetables and train timetables as well as fares for Leeds and West Yorkshire. For local bus and train times or fares information you can also telephone Metroline on 0113 245 7676, Monday to Saturday 0800 - 1900, Sunday and bank holidays 0900 - 1730.

With the 'YourNextBus' information service you can also get the predicted departure time of a bus at any stop in West or South Yorkshire texted to your mobile phone. Simply text the 8 digit bus stop number of the bus stop you are at to 63876 (this spells METRO on your keypad) and you will get a message back telling you when your next bus will arrive.

Planning your journey
You can use the Journey Planner  to plan a journey to and from any address within Yorkshire. You can also search for journeys between any two rail or coach stations nationwide.

Transport Direct also offers information for door-to-door travel for both public transport and car journeys around Britain. It's comprehensive, easy-to-use travel information to help you plan journeys effectively and efficiently.

Leeds city bus and rail stations
Leeds city rail station is on New Station Street just off City Square in central Leeds. The West Yorkshire rail network also has 67 local train stations, operated by Metro.

Leeds' city bus station for both local and county-wide services is on New York Street in Leeds. A coach terminal for inter-city and longer distance bus travel to over 1200 destinations, adjoins the bus station.

Running every few minutes from 0630 to 1930 Mondays to Saturdays, Metro's FreeCityBus links Leeds' rail and bus stations, business and shopping districts, the General Infirmary, Universities and Park Lane College.
