Fashion Designer Zac Posen
The job that today’s newest designers have upon them is not an easy task. When Zac Posen first came on the fashion scene, he was met with both criticism and cynicism. Since his debut he has risen above the critics to prove his skills of both cutting and draping match his drive. The novelty to his line lies in his take on the purpose of the runway. Zac Posen believes the runway is a place of experimentation, fantasy, a fashon-tainment file if you will. He finds it strange when women dress straight from the runway and prefers they use the walk ask a source of inspiration not imitation. Take the pieces, and assemble them the way you want to. Simplicity is the key to his line, showing up in clean colors and sophistication, much like his salmon colored gown Gwyneth Paltrow was seen at this years Academy Awards with. His design is about applying form and shape to any figure, and his creations are intended to create impact before distraction. His goal now is to help women achieve their own look and fall from the cookie cutter style moguls, and following this, you will see him branching into men’s wear with his own store and boutique line.
