'Start Over' included in Dis, TWC deal

NEW YORK -- The Walt Disney Co. and Time Warner Cable announced distribution agreements Wednesday that include retransmission consent for ABC-owned TV stations and the deployment of TWC's "Start Over" system for some Disney programming.
Financial terms of the deal weren't announced.
A key part of the deal gives TWC retransmission consent for ABC's owned-and-operated stations in New York, Los Angeles and elsewhere. It also includes ABC Family, Disney Channel, ESPN, ESPN HD, ESPN2, ESPN News, ESPN Classic, SoapNet and Toon Disney.
But the agreement also includes several on-demand aspects for TWC.
The MSO has agreed to offer ESPNU, ESPN2 HD, ESPN Deportes and Disney Channel on-demand to its subscribers. Those subscription VOD channels will launch this year and in 2008.
Disney also will offer some programming to be used for Start Over, a TWC service for digital cable subscribers. It enables viewers to watch a program already in progress from the beginning.
Some Disney content also will be given to Quick Clips, TWC's shortform content that includes two- to 10-minute clips of additional video.
